Manhattan Coffee Roasters

Manhattan Coffee Roasters was founded in Rotterdam in 2017 and takes its name from the Holland America Line, which once linked the city to New York (locally, Rotterdam's waterfront is "Manhattan aan de Maas"). The team counts more than 60 years in coffee between them and a shelf of competition titles, and its philosophy is short: source smarter, roast better. Every coffee is filed into one of five tiers, Specialty, Rare, Exceptional, Competition and World Class, most roasted for both filter and espresso and sold from 125 g. The menu leans on long partnerships with producers such as the Bermudez family, Jijón and Janson, with frequent Gesha, Sidra and experimental lots. Founder Esther Maasdam leads its community work and is an advocate for women in coffee.
