Onyx Coffee Lab was founded in 2012 by Jon and Andrea Allen in Northwest Arkansas and has grown into the most awarded — and most theatrical — specialty roaster in the United States. Andrea is a US Barista Champion and World Barista Championship runner-up, and the company has collected US roasting and brewing titles on top. Two things define the brand: radical transparency, with green cost and sourcing details published for every coffee under the motto 'Never settle for good enough', and packaging that treats a bag of coffee like a design object. The lineup is broad — comfort blends (not tracked here) through spectacular geishas and co-ferments — all roasted with modern precision in Rogers, Arkansas.
