Café Pista

Café Pista began in 2014 as Le Pista Café Mobile, a bicycle café whose grinder ran on pedal power, started by Maxime at the age of twenty. Its first café opened on rue Beaubien in 2016, a second on boulevard Saint-Laurent in 2019 and a third, with the roastery, in 2020; bagged coffee for home brewing followed in 2018. Pista buys directly from farms and a few chosen importers, returns to the same origins year after year, and publishes the price it paid for each coffee beside the commodity price, along with a yearly transparency report. Roasting is on a Loring, light to medium, and most orders are delivered by electric van.
