Escape Coffee Company

Escape Coffee Company roasts in Montreal, where its Escape Lab on rue Notre-Dame Ouest is both café and tasting room; every week the team cups the previous week's production to check and adjust its profiles. Its coffees carry names rather than origins (Secret Sauce, an Ethiopian from Basha Bekele, a 2024 Cup of Excellence winner; Cottage, from Nariño; Goosebumps; Mayor) and are grouped by style into Bright, Warm and Dark series, with limited lots beside them. Escape chooses coffees for taste, social impact and how they travel, packs them in compostable or reusable packaging, ships by the lowest-impact transport it can, and works with local artists on its bags.
