SL34

SL34 was selected in the 1930s at Scott Agricultural Laboratories in Kenya, alongside its more famous sibling SL28. It tolerates higher altitudes and richer soils, and while it is generally considered a touch less complex than SL28, it still delivers the intense blackcurrant and citrus acidity that define Kenyan coffee. It is planted throughout the central highlands, often interspersed with SL28. In the cup it brings a fuller, juicier body and dark-fruit sweetness.
