H1, marketed as Centroamericano, is an F1 hybrid developed by CIRAD and Central American research partners by crossing the Ethiopian landrace Rume Sudan with a dwarf Caturra-type line. It combines strong yield, vigor and disease tolerance with cup quality that can rival traditional varieties. Grown across Central America and beyond, it is appreciated for its sweetness, body and overall balance.
