SL14

SL14 was one of the Scott Agricultural Laboratories selections developed in Kenya in the 1930s, chosen for its vigor and tolerance of drier conditions rather than pure cup quality. It is often interplanted with the more celebrated SL28 and SL34, and appears in lots from Kenya and Uganda where growers value its resilience. In the cup it tends toward sweetness and body, offering a rounder, gentler profile than the piercing acidity of SL28. Its hardiness keeps it in the field despite the limelight going to its siblings.
