Tabi was released by Cenicafé in Colombia after decades of breeding, combining Typica, Bourbon and the Timor Hybrid to deliver rust resistance without sacrificing quality. The name comes from a Guambiano word meaning "good," a nod to its intended role as a reliable, high-yielding farm variety. In the cup it leans sweet and rounded, with soft fruit and chocolate notes, making it more cup-friendly than many disease-resistant alternatives. It remains less common than Castillo but is prized by growers seeking a durable yet flavorful tree.
