74166 is another of the numbered varieties developed by Ethiopia's Jimma Agricultural Research Center from wild coffee collected in the Metu Bishari area. Like its siblings it was released to combat coffee berry disease while retaining the nuanced cup of Ethiopia's indigenous populations. It typically shows bright acidity, floral aromatics and berry sweetness. Widely planted across the country, it usually enters the market blended into regional heirloom lots.
